I recently visited a few of the Thongs down in Mexico. We drank tequila and talked of the old days. We listened to some crazy tropical birds with preposterous names and we also listened to some old Thongs tapes. Here is an old O’Neil ad for a surf competition in Santa Cruz with music by The Thongs. I could be wrong, but I think the original name of the song was Big Sur.
